Cat & Kitten Adoption in Nowra
Here at the North Nowra Veterinary Hospital we happily re-home kittens and some older cats to responsible new owners.
Our kitten adoption program gives kittens a chance at finding a new home. We accept them from the community should they be found abandoned or you have a litter of kittens that you don’t want the responsibility of finding homes for. The only condition is that we have is we will only accept your kittens if you bring the mother in and pay to have her desexed at the time of surrendering the kittens, thus eliminating some of the cat overpopulation.
When any kittens are brought in we keep them in isolation for a week which allows us to keep a very close eye on them to ensure they are not showing any signs of illness. They are given intestinal worm control and flea control. Once a vet has given authorisation that they are healthy they are ready to be re-homed.
The older cats that we sometimes have are usually with us because they have been surrendered to our care. This may mean that the cat needs a little bit of TLC from our veterinary & nursing staff to get them back into good health. These cats we particularly love finding good homes for because it gives them a second chance at life.
The cost to adopt a kitten is $175.
The adoption price includes:
- The first vaccination
- Micro-chip
- Desexing
- Flea treatment
If you are interested at giving a kitten or surrendered cat a chance at a new home, then feel free to phone us or call in to view them through our purpose built kitten condo that is located in our reception area.
