North Nowra Veterinary Hospital
Our purpose built North Nowra Veterinary hospital located on the NSW Shoalhaven and South Coast, with its state of the art equipment and dedicated team of professionals, was established in 1990.
Their desire to provide the best possible veterinary treatment and technology for the region became a reality in 2007 when they opened the hospital you find today. Every aspect of its design was to ensure quality patient care and to allow procedures in specially designated areas to run smoothly and efficiently.
We also have the Jervis Bay Veterinary Clinic located in Old Erowal Bay for those who live further south of Nowra.

Reminder: Be prepared for the fireworks and parties 💫
New Year's Eve can be a fun and exciting time for people, but it can be stressful for pets due to the loud noises from fireworks and parties. Here are some tips to help keep your furry friends safe and calm during the celebrations:
⭐️ Create a Safe Space: Set up a quiet, comfortable area where your pet can retreat if they feel scared. This could be a room with soft bedding, their favourite toys, and some soothing music to mask the sounds from outside.
⭐️ Keep Them Indoors: If possible, keep your pets inside during the festivities to avoid them running off or getting into dangerous situations due to the noise and chaos.
⭐️ Provide Comfort: Some pets find comfort in being near their owners, so if your pet is nervous, sit with them in their safe space. You could also use calming products like pheromone diffusers (e.g., Adaptil for dogs) or calming music designed for pets.
⭐️ Distract Them: Offer treats, chews, or toys that will keep them engaged and distracted from the noise. Puzzle feeders or interactive toys are great for keeping their attention.
⭐️ Exercise Earlier in the Day: Give your pet plenty of exercise earlier in the day to help them burn off excess energy, which can make them less likely to be anxious at night.
⭐️ Watch the Doors: With guests coming and going, be sure to keep an eye on any open doors so your pets don’t escape in the excitement.
By being proactive and setting up a calm environment, you'll help ensure your pet stays safe and comfortable as you ring in the new year!

💚 Pet Of The Week 💚
This handsome young man is Diesel, who is a 4 year old kelpie cross, adopted by Nurse Kate. Diesel was originally just being fostered temporarily whilst trying to find the right home, but as so often happens with beautiful boys like him, he had already snuck his way into Kate's heart and found his forever family, so decided to stay put!
Nicknames: Deez, D-Man
Personality described in three (or five) words:quirky, smart, athletic, loveable & loyal
Favourite Activities: I am an active boy living my best life, and I love swimming, beach trips, chasing balls and growing emotional attachments to giant sticks (that Mum sadly won't let me bring home to keep).
Best animal friends: Sootie the kelpie, Zim the cattle dog (my brother), Elsie the golden retriever and Basil the moodle.
Things I do not enjoy: Needles!! 😞
Favourite sleeping position: I make a very neat pretzel shape when I nap.
Favourite food: I love getting to 'clean up' the leftover treats from when Mum runs puppy school! I am a very good helper 🙂
Things I enjoy doing that I am not allowed to: I am all about looking out for my own comfort (#selfcare) so sometimes at night I like to sneak off my bed and sleep on the couch..
Something I am always complimented about: My commitment to chasing the ball and/or stick of the day. My working dog ancestors would be proud of my razor-sharp focus!
Best physical feature: obviously everything. I am an all-round handsome boy 🙂
Biggest achievement: Convincing my mum to adopt me (not that this was a difficult task!)
If I could be any other animal, I'd be: A human!
Something quirky about me: I will always find the biggest stick to carry on a walk. If I could carry a tree, I probably would.. I am very dedicated!
Medical procedure I have been brave about: I had to have one of my tiny front incisor teeth extracted, because I fractured it whilst in hot pursuit of a ball! It was a wild moment- I caught the ball and have no regrets.. Ball is life!!
A quote to define me: 'Chasing dreams, one ball at a time." ... See MoreSee Less

🎀 Pet Of The Week 🎀
Everyone say hello to our pet of the week, Martini!
Also known as 'Tini', "Tini- Wini' and 'Chunk', this handsome little man is 2 years old and was adopted from the Animal Welfare League as a kitten, and is now living his best life with Nurse Dominique and her family.
Here are some fun facts Martini wanted to share with everyone:
How I got my name: When I was a kitten my chest looked like a martini glass
Personality described in three words: Cuddly, Sweet, Crazy!
Favourite activities: Sleeping in ridiculously adorable positions, Playing with my sister, Fudge, and I am also partial to a good midnight zoomie sesh, much to everyone's delight!
Best animal friend: my kitty sister, Fudge
Things I do not enjoy: I am shy around people I don't know (#intorvert), loud noises spook me, but I especially do not like waiting for dinner time.
Favourite sleeping position: Well crazy sleeping positions are my specialty, as you will see in my photos! My favourite would have to be lying on my back with all four of my adorable paws in the air.
Favourite position: Roasted chicen, and CHEESE!!!
Things I enjoy doing that I am not allowed to do: I am quite clever and have learned how to open all the kitchen and laundry cupboards, as part of my official duties as Household Snack Inspector. For some reason the humans try to prevent me from doing this, when really, they should be offering praise for my commitment to the snack-searchiing!
Something I am always complimented about: My cute little nose and my soft little toebeans
Biggest Achievements: As said before, I am extremely smart, and I have proudly learned how to train the humans to reward me when I sit, stand and shake paws.
Best Physical Feature: (besides everything), my big beautiful eyes
If I could be any other type of animal, I would be a: Red panda
Something quirky about me: I am a water cat! I love playing with water. I spend a lot of time sitting in sinks, and I always like to soak my cute little paws in my water bowl. It's just another way to keep hydrated, right?
