Heart Clinic
Dr. Beijerink will be running a Heart Clinic at North Nowra Veterinary Hospital on November 5th, open to any animal that needs an echocardiogram – dogs and cats.
Dr Niek Beijerink DVM, PhD, EBVS European Veterinary Specialist in small animal cardiology attends and can perform a full cardiac workup including an echocardiogram with results available immediately and provides a certificate confirming the results.
An echocardiogram is an ultrasound of the heart. Veterinary cardiologists can “echo” an animal’s heart to take measurements and view the heart’s physical functioning in real time.
Research has established threshold values for certain measurements past which the heart is considered outside of the normal range and/or indicative of DCM. They can also identify other cardiac issues such as murmurs, regurgitation, and mitral valve disease (MVD). In some cases an arrhythmia is also visible during an echocardiogram.
A special thank you to our wonderful client Doreen, whose dedication helped bring Dr. Beijerink to the region.
Please don’t hesitate to direct all enquiries regarding the Heart Clinic to Doreen at baileyantenor@gmail.com.
